This month you will not want to miss our guest speaker, Mr. Steven Duong, AICP, Senior Urban Planner with AECOM, on the Hyperloop Texas Project.
Hyperloop is a new way to move people or things anywhere in the world quickly, safely, efficiently, on-demand and with minimal impact to the environment. The system uses electric propulsion to accelerate a passenger or cargo vehicle through a tube in a low pressure environment. The autonomous vehicle levitates slightly above the track and glides at faster-than-airline speeds over long distances. Hyperloop eliminates direct emissions, noise, delay, weather concerns and pilot error. It’s the next mode of transportation.
Thursday, June 15, 12:00 pm, Canyon Creek Country Club, Richardson, TX
In addition, you will not want to miss the installation of our newly elected Preston Trail Officers as they take on their new roles. We look forward to seeing you there!
Don’t forget to REGISTER for our April luncheon this Thursday where we will have Mark Bouma, PE with NTTA discussing congestion management in our growing region.
TSPE Conference and 81st Annual Meeting
Registration is open for the TSPE Conference! We hope you will be able to join us June 7-9 in Austin at the Omni Southpark Hotel (4140 Governors Row, Austin, TX 78744). There are some great seminars planned! You will not want to miss updates from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, Texas Department of Transportation, Texas Water Development Board, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Also, you will want to hear TSPE’s Legislative & Governmental Affairs Director provide a Legislative Update and find out if any legislation that passed this session may impact you!
