We are in earnest need of your help. Through volunteering in support of the 2018-2019 Future City Competition, you and your colleagues can make all the difference. You can also help spread the word by posting the following Call for Volunteers to your members and encouraging them to volunteer.
VOLUNTEER NOW TO IMPACT THE LIFES OF FUTURE ENGINEERS
The Future City Competition – sponsored by DiscoverE (National Engineers Week) – inspires young students about engineering by challenging them to solve the real-world problems associated with building a livable city of the future. This year’s theme is “Powering the Future.” More than 50 schools are working hard on their city concepts and their solutions for resilient power grids.
North Texas conducts two parallel activities:
• The Future City Competition – the original DiscoverE middle-school program, and
• Future City Junior – pioneered by NTX to introduce 4-5th graders to engineering.
So, please take a minute now and sign up … then help us spread the word about these volunteer opportunities.
